I've really enjoyed the few seasons of the David Tenant Doctor I've seen, but I haven't watched many of the older iterations. (Basic cable with meh for BBC stuff.) Are they worth the investment, you think? :)
Sabrina: I don't know if they'd be worth it. I haven't seen TennantWho, so I can't say how well the old episodes would compare.
The earlier shows were made on the cheap, the special effects were uniformly hokey, but the actors were always very good and the warm, smart, generous character of the Doctor has always been there. It's quite a charming show, but I don't know if it would hold up to someone who has only seen NuWho.
If you do decide to watch them, Doctor 4, played by Tom Baker, was one of the greatest. My brother once complimented Christopher Eccleston's performance by saying it was on par with Tom Baker's.
