*crawls out of the coal mine*

I had a project this weekend; an epic project.

You can view the results of that epicaliciousness here.

Tell me if anything looks weird on your browser, 'kay? (And just for kicks, click your mouse on those blue thingies at the top.)

Thank you!

It's a nice clean looking website. It's easy to navigate and loads quickly.

I like your use of colours and white space. The writing comes out bit wide on my screen (1024 x 780 on a 19" monitor) but it's not unreadable. I like your use of humour!

Clicking on the blue things didn't seem to do anything.

I'm using Firefox and Windows and it worked perfectly and looked good.

The blue things have a face int hem when you mouse over, make sure you have client side java running.

I like the look also, the excerpts make me want to read more of both books. Always liked dark fantasy :)

Light a fire under your agent and get them published, or start selling e-books from your website, amazon,...

There are dozens of e-book etailers out there. The software for creating e-books is freely available.

There is no reason what is happening in the music industry to not work for authors. There are thousands of small bands poping up and marketing and selling there own music.

Why can't a author publish there own e-books? Do you need a big publishing house anymore or has the internet changed the way books are consumed now?

Publish the books online, create a following and community of readers and the brick and mortar stores will come to you.

For the blue gems a rollover gives me a masculine face, same on both, and a click raises two eyebrows and reveals a short tongue. Was there more? I use google chrome, if that helps, but it is hard to see the male face (I am presuming that it is male).

Thanks for the writing sample. When can we read the book...

Chris

Nice website! The blue gems imagery is pretty, well, subtle.

Fairyhedgehog: Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment!

I'm very glad you liked it. Hopefully the lack of blue-thingy action is either (as Sarf notes) you don't allow Javascript or (as Debra She Who Seeks notes) that it's just too subtle.

Sarf: Thanks for having a look and commenting!

There are smaller publishing houses that just do e-books, and I believe people who self-publish can also have e-books.

The reason why writers don't do it themselves is that e-books are becoming more and more lucrative (check the third paragraph in particular), so why wouldn't you want the professionals handling it? Remember that traditional publishers know how to edit, format and promote books. They do this, in general, a heck of a lot better than the author would.

Sepiru Chris: Thanks for looking and leaving me a comment!

Nope, that's all there was. I just want to see whether it works for everyone.

Debra She Who Seeks: Thank you for taking a peek and leaving a comment!

The face is supposed to be subtle, although it may be too much so. I'll probably leave it alone for now, but thank you very much for letting me know you were underwhelmed. :)

And I'll allow web site wordage. Just this once. Don't go crazy.

McKoala: The Koala is great and benevolent. A thousand obeisances.

And thanks for taking and look and letting me know what you think! I do appreciate it.

I will buy the book, you know.

Sepiru Chris: Aw, shucks. Thanks.

Depending on your computer's settings, this may not work, but I'm rather fond of this as an "emoticon":
