wow. *sits here with mouth agape in astonishment* and i don't have enough balance to walk in heels- short ones... that's just... wow. golly, talk about skillz. dude.
I don't like the way Odette's legs bend too far the wrong way at the knee, though; it's ugly. Though I'm keen on circus, and went to a lot of shows during the nine years my daughter did trapeze, I do feel the Chinese State Circus hasn't quite grasped the essence of ballet as an art form.
FairyHedgehog: I thought it was lovely until she started piroetting on the fellow's body parts; then I thought it was lovely and amazing!
Aspiring_X: Hee! Yes, I doubt I'd have the balance to do that with flat feet, never mind my tip-toes.
Lexi: Oh, I really thought she looked lovely, but I'm no expert on ballet.
Actually, that's probably my blind spot. When it comes to dance, I always seem to fixate on the physicality rather than the form. I'm too hung up on thinking, "That looks really hard," to think "Gee, that's really pretty."
Sarah: I agree! Although I do still find that spin while balanced on the poor fellow's head to be the show-stopper.
