Those Are Some High Seas

Security footage from a cruise ship.

I don't know whether to laugh or to feel really, really guilty about laughing.

oh my goodness!!! the music is funny! but the footage is TERRIFYING!!! those people could have REALLY been hurt! you'd think they would have tables and stuff like that bolted down, and regulation on how to put things away so people and the ship don't get injured... really wonder how high insurance rates skyrocketed after the vid released!

Wow. I can't begin to imagine being in all that.

It is funny and not funny.

Aspiring X: I'm pretty sure this was very anomalous for a cruise ship. Those things are so big, they don't usually move much.

Building it with less slide-y floor would have been smart, though.

Sarah: I've a friend who was on a cruise ship in extremely high seas once. He said it was very much not-funny.

And I know he's never taken a cruise since, despite having once loved them.

Aspiring X said exactly what I was thinking when I saw it! Those must have been some very high seas - I've never been on a ship that rocked that much.

Blimey. Wow. Mind you, I've been on boats like that and it isn't funny at the time!

My mom once said Windjammer cruises are much more likely to be like this - smaller ship and all. Though I think this is a bit more than what she had in mind when she said it.

Too bad there's no footage of the swimming pool playing surf's up. We get that here when there's an earthquake.

FairyHedgehog: Neither have I, and I don't wish to be! I do wonder how big the ship actually was.

Simon Kewin: It only seems funny if you're not the one dodging the rampaging furniture!

Sarah: Now that would be worth seeing--off to YouTube I go! (Well, after work.)
